What is RBC’s Worry-Free Bundle?
RBC gives drivers the option to add their “Worry-Free Bundle” of four endorsements to their policy: Transportation replacement, liability for damage to non-owned automobiles, disappearing deductible, and accident rating waiver. It’s a convenient way to add RBC’s most popular and valuable add-ons to your coverage for less than you’d pay to add them each individually.
RBC car insurance discounts
RBC offers at least three distinct discounts for auto insurance:
- Home and auto bundling discount: RBC customers who bundle home and auto can save 10% on their car insurance premiums.
- Conviction free discount: If you’ve been conviction-free for at least three years, you may qualify for a discount.
- Winter tire discount: Customers who equip their vehicles with winter tires from December 1 to March 31 each year can earn a discount in Ontario.
This likely isn’t an exhaustive list of the car insurance discounts available from RBC; many insurers offer more discounts than they advertise publicly.
RBC’s usage-based insurance discount: Aviva Journey
RBC doesn’t have its own usage-based insurance discount program, but RBC auto insurance customers can enroll in Aviva Journey, the program offered by RBC’s underwriting partner.
- How it works: Aviva Journey uses GPS technology through your smartphone to track your driving in real time, offer safe driving tips, and assign a driving score that can raise or lower your auto insurance premium.
- What it tracks: Aviva Journey bases your safety score on acceleration, braking, speeding, cornering, and distracted driving events. It also collects data on road type, time of day, day of the week, and distance travelled, all of which are factored into your score.
- Activation discount: 10%
- Maximum discount: 20%
- Maximum potential penalty: 5%

How much does RBC car insurance cost?
On average, RBC customers pay $200/month for all perils coverage for a single car and driver, or $371/month for a household with two cars and two drivers.
Your actual car insurance quotes from RBC may be higher or lower than these averages based on underwriting factors, including:
- Location: Theft rates, weather patterns, and historic crash rates in your area can all impact what you’ll pay to insure a car there.
- Coverage limits: The more coverage you choose, the more you’ll pay. RBC’s standard packages are robust, so you may see higher initial quotes.
- Age: Younger drivers have less on-road experience and a higher risk of accidents, so they’ll pay higher premiums.
- Gender: In our analysis, RBC charged slightly higher premiums for women than for men.
- Vehicle: Your car’s age, make, model, condition, modifications, safety features, theft risk, and more can shape your premium.
- Driving history: If you have any at-fault accidents or driving violations in the last few years, you can expect your rate to reflect a higher risk.
To get exact rates for RBC car insurance, we requested quotes for three customer profiles: a married couple with two cars and no driving violations, the same couple with a single minor violation, and two single drivers (male and female) with one car.
We quoted the following coverage packages:
- All perils coverage: All mandatory coverage, $1 million liability insurance, and no endorsements. Collision and comprehensive deductibles were set to $1,000.
- High coverage: All mandatory coverage, $2 million liability insurance, transportation replacement, liability for damage to non-owned automobiles, disappearing deductible, accident rating waiver, and satellite roadside assistance included. Collision deductible was set to $500 and comprehensive deductible to $300.
RBC car insurance cost: Family quotes
RBC car insurance quotes for a married couple who own a 2021 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCrew 4WD and a 2019 Honda Civic Sport averaged between $371/month for basic all perils coverage and $450/month for high coverage with extensive endorsements.

Why are rates so high in Brampton?
Quotes for Brampton, Ontario brought up RBC’s average pricing significantly because Brampton is one of Canada’s leading auto theft hotspots, with over $43 million in theft claims in 2025 alone and a 565% increase in motor vehicle theft between 2017 and 2025 according to the Insurance Bureau of Canada. Because one of our sample vehicles—the Ford F-150—is a common theft target, quotes for this vehicle in Brampton are extremely high.
Other cities facing high auto theft rates and rising car insurance costs include Markham, Oakville, and Richmond Hill, all in the Greater Toronto Area.

The RBC car insurance claims process
If you need to file a car insurance claim with RBC, here’s what to expect.
- Submit your claim: Be ready to provide your policy number, a description of the incident leading to your claim, and any evidence available to you, including photos and videos of the damage to your car, if applicable, and a police report (if available).
- Choose your service provider(s): Whether you need vehicle repairs, medical care, or both following an accident, you’ll have the option to choose vendors from Aviva’s preferred network. You’re not required to stay within the Aviva network, however.
- Authorize repairs and pay your deductible: Once your claims advisor and service provider have settled on the amount of coverage, you can authorize repairs to the home and pay the portion of the cost that you’re responsible for (your deductible).
If you make a car insurance claim with RBC, you can expect your premium to go up, although the increase may be minor if your claim wasn’t associated with an at-fault accident.
How to file a RBC car insurance claim
You can file an auto claim with RBC by using the online claim submission form or by calling 1-800-769-2526. If you have a Rogers cell phone, you can file a claim by dialing #722.
